I havn't used any of what you have mentioned and am pretty new to making videos. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to record videos without using Fraps, so that's why i'm asking. Would you use 'ShadowPlay' by NVIDIA (if you can use it) over Bandicam with the setup i use on it? Will i see any quality difference in the final video from using 3000 Mbps on the recorded videos with Fraps and then encode that video at 10 Mbps to using around 100 Mbps with the H.265 / HEVC codec (which is the same as 140-150 Mbps with H.264 codec) on the recorded videos with Bamdicam and then encode that video at 10 Mbps?Īnd my last question is. This will prevent the fps from dropping as it will use the more powerfull CUDA cores in the NVIDIA GPU to record the videos.Īs H.265 / HEVC can use about 40-50% lower bitrate than H.264 and still have the same quality, this means that my Bandicam setup as i use is the same as i would use around 140-150 Mbps with the H.264 codec. This is with the 'MP4' filetype and the 'HEVC (NVIDIA NVENC)' codec which is basicly the H.265 codec. With Bandicam, a 1 minute video recording with p at 100 Mbps Constant Bitrate takes around 750 to 760 MB in size. A 1 minute video recorded with Fraps 60 fps in 1080p takes a whopping 5.8 GB in an AVI file where the video have a massive 3000 Mbps in bitrate. But my issue with Fraps is that it takes an insane amount of space on my harddrive and it's more heavy on the CPU which means the fps might drop a bit under recording. I know how Fraps is working and i know the footages it records are lossless. I would like to hear from you here on what kind of video recording program you (for those of you that are using those programs to video record games) prefer to use between Fraps, Bandicam or ShadowPlay (if you have the ability to use that)?
